EDUCATORS & FAMILIES · ACTIVITY SHEET
Map the whole-health connection
A flexible activity for exploring how oral health can relate to behaviours, systems and everyday wellbeing.
Start in the centre
Write “mouth” in the centre of a page and invite learners to add functions such as eating, speaking, smiling and sensing.
Add shared influences
Around it, add nutrition, hygiene, tobacco exposure, stress, medicines, access to care and health conditions.
Draw careful connections
Use solid lines for well-established facts and dotted lines for questions or relationships that still require explanation.
Reflect together
Discuss which connections represent direct effects, shared risks, behaviours or unanswered research questions.
TAKEAWAY
The goal is not to draw the most connections, but to explain each connection responsibly.
